We are a very musical school. Every class, from preschool upwards has a weekly violin lesson in the music room during the school day. In addition we have the CEOL programme in every class which teaches children rhythm, pitch, how to read music, how to compose and perform. Class teachers are fully trained in this programme.

St Ultans also has its own Concert Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra both of which feature violins, cello’s, double basses and percussion. Many of the participants return from secondary school weekly and many of the children have performed in the National Concert Hall, Three arena, and even on the late late toy show.

The Royal Irish Academy of Music exams are taken by many students, in 2019 almost 40 percent of the school population took and passed their exams.
